Gameplay
6+ Players 👥
3-5 Minutes ⏱️
What You’ll Need
A 3x3 grid marked on the floor (tape, chalk, or paper plates)
Beanbags or small tossable objects (one per player or team)
Scoreboard (optional)
Setup
Mark a large tic-tac-toe style grid on the ground.
Place a line 6–10 feet away where players will stand to toss.
Divide into teams or play individually.
How to Play
Take turns tossing – Each player stands behind the line and tosses a beanbag onto the grid.
Mark the space – Wherever the beanbag lands, mark it with an X or O for that player/team.
Complete the row – Just like tic-tac-toe, players try to get three in a row to win.
Score multiple rounds – Reset the grid each round. Keep score to determine an overall winner.
Say Something Like
“Alright, everybody! We’re going to play Tic-Tac-Toe… but with a twist. You don’t just get to choose where your mark goes—you have to EARN it with a toss! Let’s see who’s got the aim to win Toss Boss!”
Variations
Trivia Grid – Instead of Xs and Os, write categories or questions in each square. Players must answer a question about the one they land on before claiming it.
Target Points – Assign point values to each square and play to a certain score instead of tic-tac-toe rules.
Discipleship Teaching Points
Just like we aim for the right square, we should aim for God’s will in our lives. Paul said, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14 KJV)
Secular Teaching Points
Encourages focus, patience, and coordination while adding a fun competitive edge.
