Guess That Drink

Blindfolded, poncho on, and a mystery drink flying at your face. First to name it wins the round. It’s ridiculous, it’s messy, and the crowd loves it just as much as the players.

Players: 2-4 Contestants + a crowdTime: 5-10 MinutesBy Wells Family · September 30, 2026

Setup

  • Pour a few ounces of each mystery drink into separate cups and keep them hidden from the contestants.
  • Suit up each contestant in a poncho and blindfold, and line them up facing the leader.
  • Warn the front row. They’re in the splash zone.

How to Play

  • Toss the drink. The leader tosses a small splash of the mystery drink toward the contestants’ faces (aim for chin and cheeks, not eyes).
  • Guess fast. Contestants shout out what they think it was. First correct guess wins the round.
  • Next cup. Grab the next mystery drink and go again.
  • Crown a champ. Most rounds won takes the title. Ties go to a sudden-death sip.

Say Something Like

“Ponchos on, blindfolds on. In a second, something is going to hit your face. Your job is to be the first one to tell me what it is. Sodas, teas, and maybe something a little worse. Ready? Here it comes!”

Variations

  • Sip Instead of Splash: For a cleaner version, hand each blindfolded contestant a tiny cup to taste and let them race to guess.
  • Team Sniff: Teams send one blindfolded player at a time. First team to five correct guesses wins.
  • Escalation: Start tame and get weirder each round. Save the pickle juice for the finale.

Discipleship Teaching Points

You can’t see what’s coming, but you can still recognize what you know. Tie it to discerning truth when you can’t see the whole picture. Reference: Hebrews 5:14.

Secular Teaching Points

Sensory recognition, quick thinking, and a great “watch the crowd laugh” game for events and youth nights.
