Snake Eyes

A secretive showdown of stealth and suspicion! In Snake Eyes, one hidden snake slithers through a circle of students, silently taking out victims with just a look and a tongue flick — all while trying to avoid being caught by the hunter. Perfect for icebreakers or energizers!

Gameplay

  • 10+ Players 👥

  • 5-7 Minutes ⏱️

What You’ll Need

  • Just a group of students (no materials required!)

  • Optional: dramatic music or dimmed lights for suspense

Setup

  • Have all students stand in a circle, facing inward.

  • Ask everyone to close their eyes.

  • Walk around and silently tap one student once on the head to designate them as the Snake.

  • Tap a different student twice to make them the Hunter.

How to Play

  • Explain the Roles Privately:
Whisper to the snake: “You’re the snake. Make eye contact and stick out your tongue to bite others.”
Whisper to the hunter: “You’re the hunter. Watch closely and try to figure out who the snake is before everyone is bitten.”

  • Start the Game:
Instruct everyone to open their eyes. The game begins immediately.

  • Snake's Strategy:
The snake must look directly at other players and stick out their tongue to “bite” them.
Bitten players must dramatically fall to the floor and “play dead.”

  • Hunter's Mission:
The hunter watches the group closely and tries to identify who the snake is.
Once they think they know, they point to their suspect and say, “I think you’re the snake!”

  • Winning the Game:

    • If the hunter guesses correctly, the hunter wins.

    • If the hunter guesses incorrectly, the game continues.

    • If the snake “bites” the hunter before being caught, the snake wins instantly.

    • If the snake manages to bite everyone else without being caught, the snake wins.

Say Something Like
"Alright, everyone — we’re playing a game of stealth and suspicion. One of you is the deadly snake, silently striking with just a look and a tongue flick. One of you is the brave hunter, trying to sniff out the snake before it’s too late. Can you survive… Snake Eyes?"

Variations

  • Double Snake: Choose two snakes for even more chaos!

  • Silent Hunter: The hunter may not speak or point—must tag their suspect silently!

  • Hunter Reveal: Reveal the hunter to the group, but keep the snake a secret for added tension.

Teaching Points
This game encourages attentiveness and helps players reflect on unseen influences and staying alert. It’s a fun way to introduce topics like temptation, spiritual warfare, or being “watchful.”
