Gameplay

  • 8+ Players 👥

  • 4-5 Minutes ⏱️

What You’ll Need

  • Chairs for all players except one

Setup

  • Arrange chairs in a circle for all players except one.

  • Choose one player to be the Psychiatrist and send them out of the room.

  • While they’re gone, the group agrees on a funny or quirky “condition” to act out.

How to Play

  • Bring in the Psychiatrist: Call them back in with the phrase, “Doctor, your patients are ready!”

  • Ask Questions: The Psychiatrist asks questions to the group to try to figure out the condition. (They cannot ask the same person twice in a row.)

  • Answer in Character: Players must always answer according to the agreed condition. (Examples: Everyone acts like the person to their right, every answer must begin with the letter “B,” or everyone believes they are Chuck Norris.)

  • Diagnose the Condition: The Psychiatrist keeps asking until they correctly guess the group’s condition.

  • Celebrate & Switch: Once solved, pick a new Psychiatrist and play again with a new condition.

Say Something Like
“Doctor, your patients are ready! You may begin asking any questions to figure out their strange condition. But be warned—these patients aren’t exactly normal today!”

Variations

  • Speed Round: Limit the Psychiatrist to 10 questions.

  • Double Diagnosis: Have two conditions at once (example: everyone is the person to their right and answers must rhyme).

  • Reverse Play: The Psychiatrist secretly decides a condition, and players must answer while trying to figure out what it is.

Discipleship Teaching Points
This game highlights listening, observation, and discernment—similar to how we should be attentive to others’ needs and the Spirit’s guidance (James 1:19).

Secular Teaching Points
Players practice creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork while thinking outside the box. It’s also a great icebreaker for group bonding.
