What You’ll Need
Everyone’s shoes
A little open floor
Setup
Have every player take off both shoes and toss them into one big pile in the middle of the room.
Mix the pile up. Really mix it.
Split into two teams and line up an equal distance from the pile.
How to Play
First runner goes.
On go, the first player from each team runs to the pile.Find your pair.
They dig out both of their own shoes, put them on, and run back.Tag the next.
Tagging the next teammate sends them to the pile.Everyone shod wins.
The first team with every player back in their own shoes wins.
Say Something Like
“Shoes off, everybody, and throw them in the middle. When I say go, one at a time you’re going to run in there, find YOUR shoes, put them on, and run back. First team fully dressed wins. Go!”
Variations
Laces Tied: Shoes must be fully tied before you can run back.
Blind Dig: Runners are blindfolded and must find their shoes by feel.
Partner Shoes: Find your partner’s shoes instead of your own.
Discipleship Teaching Points
Everyone’s digging through the same pile for what belongs to them. Use it to talk about identity, knowing whose you are, and not settling for a substitute. Reference: John 10:14.
