Gameplay

  • 4+ Players 👥

  • 3-5 Minutes ⏱️

What You’ll Need

Setup

  • Fill plastic cups about 3/4 full with water.

  • Place all cups on one end of the room or playing area.

  • Designate a finish line at the opposite end.

  • Give each player or team a pool noodle.

How to Play

  • Balance the cup: Instruct each player to balance a water-filled cup on the end of their pool noodle.

  • Walk carefully: On “Go,” players walk from the start line to the finish line without touching the cup or letting it fall.

  • Restart if dropped: If a player drops the cup or spills more than a splash, they must return to the starting line and begin again.

  • Race to the end: First player or team to reach the end with the most water still in the cup wins!

Say Something Like
“Alright, who’s got steady hands and ninja-like balance? Your job is to carry a cup of water across the room — but you can only use a pool noodle! No hands, no holding — and definitely no spills. Think you can do it?”

Variations

  • Relay Version: Teams take turns and pass the noodle; fastest full team wins.

  • Obstacle Course: Add cones or chairs to navigate around while balancing the cup.

  • Blindfold Buddy: One player is blindfolded and guided by a partner’s voice.

Discipleship Teaching Points
Teaches patience and focus — qualities important when following God’s direction. Remind students how distractions or rushing through life can cause us to “spill” what God’s trying to do in us.
(Hebrews 12:1-2)

Secular Teaching Points
Reinforces teamwork, concentration, and motor skills — great for leadership development or classroom icebreakers.
