Gameplay
8+ Players 👥
4-7 Minutes ⏱️
What You’ll Need
Music playback device (phone + speaker works great)
Open playing space large enough for movement
Cones or tape (optional, to mark boundaries)
Setup
Create a large circle using cones, tape, or imaginary boundary lines.
Choose one player to be “It” and have them stand in the center.
All other players stand evenly spaced around the edge of the circle.
How to Play
Start the music: Begin playing music as players walk around the circle.
Watch for the stop: At random intervals, pause the music suddenly.
Tag if you’re in the middle: Whoever is closest to the middle or hesitates gets tagged by the middle person and switches places.
Rotate and restart: Repeat the process, continuing until everyone has had a turn or time runs out.
Say Something Like
"Alright everyone! When the music’s playing, you’re walking the edge. But when it stops — don’t get caught! If you hesitate, you might just get tagged and sent to the center!"
Variations
Freeze Frame: Players must freeze in place when the music stops. The last to freeze is out.
Double Trouble: Add a second player in the center to tag faster.
Discipleship Teaching Points
Just like in this game, life can stop suddenly. Are you prepared? “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” – Matthew 24:44
Secular Teaching Points
Encourages fast reaction, listening skills, and situational awareness. Great for team bonding and high energy release.
