8+ Players 👥
4-5 Minutes ⏱️
One large sheet or blanket that cannot be seen through
Two volunteers to hold the sheet
Chairs arranged with a center aisle between two sections (optional but helpful)
Divide the group into two teams, one on each side of a center aisle.
Assign two volunteers to hold the sheet vertically across the aisle, blocking the view between the two sides.
Hold the sheet up – The two volunteers raise the sheet high so neither player can see the other.
Choose two players – The moderator selects one player from each side to quietly approach opposite sides of the sheet.
Drop the sheet – The moderator counts down, “3… 2… 1… Go!” and the volunteers drop the sheet.
Say the name – The first player to correctly say the other player’s name wins the round.
Repeat – Continue with new players each round. Play as many rounds as you’d like or until everyone’s had a turn.
Say Something Like
“Alright everyone, get ready to learn some names fast! When the sheet drops, the first person to say the other player’s name wins the round. It’s simple—but your brain might freeze when the pressure hits! Let’s play The Sheet Game!”
Variations
Silent Round – Players must act out their name charades-style instead of saying it.
Name & Fun Fact – After each round, have the players share a quick fun fact to help the group learn more about them.
Team Tournament – Keep score and declare a winning team at the end.
Teaching Points
Helps build connection and belonging—an essential part of growing in community and faith. Perfect for kicking off a youth group night or weekend retreat.
